The air spring brake chamber is a device consisting of an air inlet, a cover, a diaphragm, a supporting plate, a return spring, a housing, a push rod, a connecting fork, a clamp, and a bolt. It performs two critical braking functions:

Service Brake Function

When the operator applies the brake pedal, compressed air enters the chamber through the air inlet. The air pressure acts on the diaphragm, pushing the supporting plate and push rod forward. The push rod applies force to the brake camshaft through the connecting fork, rotating the camshaft to expand the brake shoes against the drum. This creates the friction needed to slow or stop the vehicle.

Parking / Emergency Brake Function
